Clarice Brinker passed away at her home on March 25, 2015 at the age of 90.

Born August 6, 1924, in Burlington, CO to parents Harry and Dorothy Pettibone. During the Dust Bowl, they moved to Sanger, CA to join other family members already settled in the area. Clarice graduated from Sanger High School in 1943 and then enrolled in 4C's College. While attending 4C's she lived with William and Elsie Brinker where she met and fell in love with their eldest son, Eugene W. Brinker, Jr when he returned home after serving in the Navy during WWII. They were married for 40 years until Gene's unexpected death in 1986.

Clarice, a well-known and respected business woman, worked tirelessly to establish Brinker Real Estate in 1964, a successful real estate and property management company. Some of her other achievements include being involved with the Littlest Angels, Valley Cat Fanciers, Secretary of the Fig Garden Sheriff's Association, Board Member of the Huntington Lake Lower Line Creek Tract Association and a member of the Fresno County Grand Jury in 1989. Clarice was not one to keep her opinions of people and politics to herself as evidenced by her numerous published Letters to the Editor.

In 1955 Gene and Clarice designed and built a beautiful home on Van Ness Blvd, also known as Christmas Tree Lane. She loved decorating the outside of her house for the annual Christmas Tree Lane event for all to enjoy.

Clarice had many passions in life. She loved spending time at the Huntington Lake family cabin that Gene and she built in 1966 with the help of all their friends and family. Clarice had a great love for animals that probably started with her pet pig when she was a young child. Over the years, many cats and dogs were a part of the family. One of her favorite past times was feeding and watching birds and squirrels, especially the hummingbirds. She loved to work in her gardens so she had beautiful flowers to grace her yard and cut flowers for inside the house. She also enjoyed traveling to faraway places with her friends.

Clarice is survived by her brother, Jerry Pettibone and his wife Bunty; son, Scott Brinker and his wife Candice; daughter, Kim Brinker and her partner Roger McEvoy; one grandson and one great-grandson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Pardini's, 2257 W. Shaw on Sunday, April 19, 2015, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the donor's favorite charity.
